Topic: Retail Panel - Multisport Stores: how does outdoor perform?

Tomas started working for Stadium in 1994 as a Store salesman and worked his way up through the store management, until in 2000 he became store manager. He then moved to Stadiums headquarters, as Business Unit Manager for the Action sports and Outdoors sports buying and sales department from 2000 to 2002. He then transferred to coordinating IT development including developing and implementing Stadiums assortment planning and order handling application (FFX), Implementing Stadiums ERP system - IFS application (the parts surrounding buying and sales) and developing and implementing EDI and WebEDI for Stadiums suppliers.

In 2005 his responsibilities changed again with his appointment to the position of Supplier Co-ordinator, in charge of the relations and partnerships with all branded goods suppliers and leading the team that changed the buying department from a store distributed logistic model to a central warehouse distributed chain system. In 2007 a new role beckoned as Tomas became Stadium’s Strategic Range Manager, a new position that was responsible for Stadium long term strategic assortment strategy. At the same time he headed up the development and implementation of their new buying organisation, going from a product type driven setup to a category/brand driven organisation. He developed and negotiated Stadiums new suppliers agreement leading to strengthened partnerships and a higher level of shared risk with Stadiums suppliers together with more clearly defined responsibilities between the parties. Tomas took onhis current role as Vice Buying Director in 2009 and is responsible for Stadiums full range for both external brands and in-house brands. This includes everything from the buying process, to product development, to managing the design team a.s.o. Stadiums buying department employs of 85 people and has the full responsibility for the total buying volume of the 120 Stadium stores.
